Next stop is the specially glazed breeding unit where you can see piglets feeing from their mothers. Unquestionably, this experience together is often a family highlight. Possibly Britain’s most famous seaside resort otherwise known as Skegness is less than a ten-minute drive away too! It was the arrival of the railway in 1873 that led to the radical transformation of the town. Back then, the population was about 350, however as the railway bought in Sunday day trips, it was no longer before the locals set up stalls of refreshment and commodities. Skegness traditional pier soon followed to open in 1881 to cater for all the holiday makers. At the time, the pier cost £20,840 which would have been £2.17 million in today’s money.
