Pakefield is a small village in the north of Suffolk, England. It is located on the Suffolk Coast and is home to some stunning beaches. Pakefield beach is a sandy beach with views out over the North Sea, it stretches for a mile along the shoreline and provides plenty of opportunity for swimming and water sports activities – perfect for summer days. There are also a number of rock pools at low tide which provide an interesting habitat for young children to explore, as well as an area near the main car park where you can build sandcastles.

For those looking for more adventure, Pakefield is also home to an array of flora and fauna including wildflowers, common birds such as herring gulls and oystercatchers, while seals often come into the bay at high tide. The beach also has excellent facilities such as toilets, refreshment kiosks and ice cream vans selling traditional favourites such as 99s, sea-salt chips with vinegar or ketchup and donuts.

The nearby town of Lowestoft is just a few miles away from Pakefield too, providing its visitors with access to a wide range of shops, restaurants and entertainment options during their stay. For those wanting to explore further afield there are plenty of other attractions in this beautiful region; RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve lies within easy reach offering spectacular wetlands teeming with wildlife while Orford Ness National Nature Reserve offers stunning views across the Orford estuary.

The waters at Pakefield are relatively calm and shallow, making it perfect for wading and swimming, or just taking some time out to relax on the shoreline. The beach also boasts a variety of rock pools waiting to be explored as well as fascinating shells which can be collected when you take a leisurely stroll along the shore.

A short drive through open countryside, past windmills, and waterways to discover the magnificent Norfolk Broads. Undoubtedly, Norfolk is possibly most famous for its magical waterways. Meanwhile its 125 of navigable lock free waterways means that there is so many ways to explore this water playground. A 20-minute drive will take to the charming north Suffolk seaside town of Southwold.
