The traditional coastal town

Only a 10 minute drive away from Sunbeach, is the fabulous seaside town of Great Yarmouth. The traditional coastal town is a popular seaside holiday resort which attracts many families to spend their summer holidays on the glorious beach. Great Yarmouth has so much family fun to offer with lots of amusement arcades, two fun piers and two theme parks! Not only that, the town features a sea life centre, crazy gold courses, shops, a quasar centre and many great  family pubs and restaurants.  There is just so much you can do and you are guaranteed to find something that everyone will enjoy.

Dogs are very welcome

Additionally, Great Yarmouth is a superb holiday destination if you’re bringing the furry members of the family on holiday too, due to the town being so dog friendly. The beach welcomes dogs to enjoy a game of fetch on the sands, as well as many of the local pubs being dog friendly.

Along the seafront, Sara’s Tearooms is a beautiful café which offers delicious homemade snacks and drinks. The café is a family run business and the staff encourage doggies, so much so that they even have their own ‘dog of the day’! Whereby they take photographs of their favourite pups which have visited. For dog lovers and owners, this is the perfect place which both you and your dog can enjoy.

Firework displays

Great Yarmouth is famous for its fireworks displays which are held weekly every Wednesday throughout the peak summer season. The display is amazing! With a variety of different fireworks you will get a brilliant view anywhere along the seafront on either of the piers, Wellington Pier or Britannia Pier. On the nights when the fireworks are hosted, the local attractions remain open until 10pm as well. So you can spend the entire evening at Great Yarmouth enjoying everything it has to offer!

For when the sun is shining and if you have children who are thrill-seekers, spending the day on the local fun fairs at Great Yarmouth is a must! Whether you have younger children or daring teens, Great Yarmouth has a variety of different rides which are tailored for children of all age groups, with ‘Joyland’ aimed for younger children and the Pleasure Beach theme park catering for teens.

Joyland

Joyland has a variety of rides including gigantic snails, pirate ship, balloon wheel and a spooky kid-friendly rollercoaster. In addition, there are games and stalls as well as a tasty American Diner where you can grab a bite to eat.

Pleasure beach

In contrast, Pleasure Beach features more daring rides including a whooshing roller coaster, whirling waltzers and a mighty 22 meters sky drop! There are over 25 different rides to enjoy from family rides to children’s rides as well as thrilling rides too. Not to forget, the beloved log flume where you can cool down on a hot summers day with an inevitable splash. The two theme parks provide something that all the family will enjoy and fantastic for a family day out.

Indoor activities

Great Yarmouth also offers great family days out with indoor activities for those days which are less sunny. The Jurassic Journey dinosaur exhibit is ‘roarsome’! You can become a paleontologist for the day, digging for fossils and learning about the different species of dinosaurs on display.

There are over 10 different animated displays of a variety of favourite dinosaurs including velociraptors and the mighty t-Rex.

Laser quest

If you’re looking for an exciting and action-packed afternoon out, then a game of laser quest is perfect for you! The UK’s biggest quasar venue is located in Great Yarmouth with 2 floors of fun! You and your family can run riot as you to dodge and dive through the obstacles, trying to beat the opposition. Undoubtedly, a quick 30 minute game of quasar will get be enjoyable for everyone.

Beautiful seaside village

Just over a mile away from Sunbeach Holiday Village is the lovely coastal village of Scratby, a beautiful seaside village in Norfolk. Scratby is a traditional coastal village offering amusement arcades, fish n chip shops, tea rooms and of course a stunning beach. The beach welcomes doggies to enjoy the glorious sands, where you can walk for miles enjoying the picturesque sea views.
