Sunnydale is a fabulous park with great onsite amenities and a relaxed atmosphere. Spending a day on site might begin with a morning splash, taking a dip in the warm indoor pool and leaving you feeling refreshed for the day. Seaside town of Mablethorpe
The beautiful seaside town of Mablethorpe is only a short drive away from the park itself. After all, it wouldn’t be a seaside holiday without a day building sandcastles, eating ice cream and having a dip in the sea! Mablethorpe is a Blue Flag Award winning beach with miles of wonderful golden sands, friendly atmosphere and welcomes doggies to come along too. During the summer months, you can enjoy pony rides on the beach, a delicious ice cream from one of the parlours and spend a day topping up your sun tan.
Aside from the gorgeous local beach nearby Sunnydale, there are some amazing nature parks nearby and with some careful planning, you might be able to visit the seals at the Donna Nook National Nature Reserve. Only a short 10 minute drive away, the beautiful nature reserve is home to many grey seals which annually visit to give birth to their pups. The seal season is between October – December and it is an amazing site to see the seals with their newly birthed pups on the sand dunes. Not only is the Donna Nook renowned for seals, but there are 47 species of bird which regularly visit and great if you love bird watching.

Further afield and a 45 minute drive away, is the amazing Ark Wildlife Park and Exotic Animal Sanctuary. Although the attraction is a little distance away, it is totally worth it! It is set in the pretty countryside in Lincolnshire with a range of fascinating animals including incredible reptiles, exotic mammals and much more. There are many animal experiences that you can also enjoy from meeting furry meerkats to feeding the crocodiles (for those who are brave enough)! For the real animal lovers, you can even spend that little bit extra to be an animal keeper for the day and working closely with the staff members.
If getting close and personal with the animals is not for you, the wildlife park has a brand new exciting feature for 2020, its own escape room! You and up to 6 friends of family members have 60 minutes to crack the code to escape and save the animals as you take on the role of being detectives. Apart from the various activities the wildlife park has to offer, there is a huge range of awesome animals to see. Furthermore there is an adventure playground, indoor soft play and sand pit, African themed café, picturesque nature walks and animal feeds and talks. All of which only costs £30.00 family of four ticket and if you take picnic snacks and drinks, it doesn’t need to be an expensive day out at all. Lincolnshire Worlds Railway
Closer to Sunnydale Holiday Park and only a 20 minute drive away is the Lincolnshire Worlds Railway, a fantastic day out full of British heritage. You can travel back in time and experience a steam train ride! All you have to do is buy your ticket and you have unlimited travel on the day, entry to the museum and you can enjoy a snack at the Steaming Kettle Buffet. Throughout the year, they host a variety of fabulous events including a Victorian Weekend with entertainment on the train and a Victorian dress code!
Furthermore, you can enjoy cream tea on the train, Super Hero Day, carnival Sunday, a tribute to the Queen, Fish ’n’ Chips day and many more! Not only is there great events which are hosted, the railway also offers unique experiences such as operating the signals and gates as well as a ride in a steam locomotive train with the driver.
