Recharge and refresh with a late autumn break this year. With parks perfectly located for access to the Broads National Park, what better way to blow away the cobwebs than exploring these stunning waterways. Winter on the Broads definitely has its benefits. It is much quieter than the summer months, wildlife thrives, and visitors love the peace that it brings. For wildlife lovers the Broads boasts plenty of birdlife even during the winter months with marsh harriers, mistle thrushes, barn and tawney owls. Keep an eye out at ground level for the chance to spot Chinese water deer or otter enjoying the peaceful waters. Defined by crisp mornings, remarkable sunrises and still waters, winter on the Broads is the very definition of picturesque.
As November comes around our thoughts move to Christmas shopping. With Norwich being only a short drive from the coast make a weekend of it and shop till you drop then relax on the sofa with a sea view. Norwich unquestionably is the most festive town in the East with 7 Christmas Markets in 2021. The largest being the Norfolk Festive Gift and Food Show at the Norfolk Showground. Norfolk’s biggest Christmas Market features hundreds of stalls and everything you will need for the festive season. Pair this with a stay at the Regency Apartments in Great Yarmouth and you will be able to relax by the sea after a day of shopping.
Historic town and port with outstanding heritage.
Book yourself a stay at the historic Ebenezer Chapel to hold an early Turkey & Tinsel celebration for your family. The Chapel is perfectly situated for a visit to Kings Lynn to grab those last-minute presents. Kings Lynn is a truly historic town with a vibrant centre. The Vancouver Quarter features a wide range of both local and national retailers with the town as a whole providing a superb, all-round shopping experience. Shopping done, head back to the chapel, light the wood burner and sink into the sofa with a hot chocolate and a good book. Could you ask for anymore?
Best Holidays In November
For me the best Holidays in November consist of long brisk walk along an empty beach followed by a big bowl of warming soup on the sofa looking out over the sea. A stay at Carlton Meres allows you to enjoy the landscapes of Suffolk at their seasonal best. It’s the perfect time of year to wrap up warm, lace up your boots and escape on a walk with friends and family. Visit Snape Maltings and enjoy walks along the River Alde and surrounding marshes. Take the circular loop through Snape Warren or the Riverside walk to Iken Church, Either one will provide you with beautiful views of the Suffolk Countryside.
Holkham Hall Estate and Beach
For long autumn walks through a stunning estate head to Holkham Hall in Norfolk. During the colder months you will be able to see the Fallow Deer in all their glory. Watch from afar as the Deer rut to show dominance in the herd. With a stunning location on the north Norfolk coast and at the heart of a thriving 25,000 acre estate, Holkham Hall is described as an exceptional place, rich in history, architecture and wildlife. The seat of the Earls of Leicester, this elegant 18th century mansion is still very much a lived-in family home which the family take pride in sharing with visitors.
The estate covers much of the Norfolk Coastline including the quaint harbour town of Wells-next-the-Sea. With its delis and coffee shops Wells is a vibrant town with a rich history. Take a walk along the harbour towards the beach and you will be rewarded with sandy beaches and pine lined dunes to explore. The pastel beach huts line the beach and make a stunning backdrop for any family photo. Pinefields Holiday is literally a stones throw from the beach itself. Book here today and enjoy a stroll over first thing in the morning to swim in undisturbed waters.
