Our favourite places to go on holiday UK

The UK boasts some seriously stunning scenery and the county of Kent certainly doesn’t disappoint. Call me biased but Kent is one of the best counties that England has to offer. First of all, Kent is the oldest county in England which means it’s steeped in rich history. With over 17,000 listed buildings, Kent is brimming with heritage, history and hidden gems.

One popular historic town has to be Whitstable which is a traditional coastal town and full of character! The town itself is renowned for its harbour and quirky shops. The quaint streets offer a variety of different gift shops, eateries, locally sourced food and even vinyl record stores as well as your modern high street shops. Not only are there great shops, but the town boasts great art galleries too. Chappell Contemporary is one particular favourite offering limited edition prints from incredible artists.

Discover Kent’s rich history

But what Whitstable is possibly most famous for is its stunning castle and gardens. Whitstable Castle or also known as Tankerton Towers, was built in the 1790s and presents realms of fantastic history. As you explore the Castle, you will discover interesting facts and impressive artefacts. Surrounding the Castle are beautiful gardens which visitors are also welcome to walk around, there are opportunities for guided tours of both the Castle & Gardens which can be pre-booked prior to arrival. Whitstable Castle is a brilliant day out for families as well as adults too! Just moments away from this historic town is Seaview Holiday Park which makes for the perfect place to explore all that Kent has to offer. Not only can you explore the history of Whitstable but you can also appreciate its stunning seafront.
